WELCOME TO MANOIR DU STER
Hallo, we wish you a warm and friendly welcome to Manoir du Ster, and we hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
To help you settle in, here is a list of things you should know.
Please don't hesitate to come to me -with all incidents that may occur, -if things are missing from the inventories or for information about the region. Please report all incidents so that I can fix them as soon as possible.
Animals and children
The first animal you might notice is the Lama, Tatanka. He walks around the property but doesn’t approach you, except for maybe the first time he sees you or if you have a dog on a leash. Don't worry, he's not dangerous, be patient and please don't try to pet him.
There are many other animals on the farm, including four sheep Ouessant, Razmoquette, her baby Pygmée, the ram Noël and two goats Toto and Noisette. Toto is very sweet, but has to be on a leash, or else he will go onto the road. If he goes for a walk or is entangled, please don't hesitate to help.
Then there are the cats, Ding Dong (the Siamese), Garfield (guess what colour he is), Mimi(the multi coloured) and her kitten Chiwawa, but pay attention, they steal!
Be aware that if you feed the animals close to your house, they will become very friendly and invite themselves to your next barbecue.
If you bring dogs of your own please keep them under your surveillance, preferably on a leash or in the small park. If they do their business on the paths or near the house, please clean up after them.
Your children can play (e.g. soccer, basketball, the swings) on the entire property under your surveillance, but beware of the small lake. Further more, they can meet our mascot, the talking parrot Cacahuète. If they are interested, all they have to do is come to the door at the foot of the light tower Tatanka and ask for me.
Garbage and recycling
There is no sewer in the area, so please to be kind to the salamanders, who lives in the sumps and to the KOI fish, in the lake: -don't use bleach, -use biodegradable maintenance products, but in small quantities -throw tampons, sanitary napkins and if possible the grease (wipe for example the pans with a paper towel) in the rubbish bin, and -avoid the use of thick toilet paper.
We use selective recycling, -so yellow bags are at your disposal, these are for cardboard and metal; you place these bags in the wooden shelter near the gate. For glass: please take your bottles to the municipal bins (the nearest is at rue de l'Ecole de Voile, turn two rights after exiting the gate), -the garbage trucks comes by once a week, on Thursday mornings, For compost a bin is situated near the gate, caution, don't put citrus or shells or crustaceans in the compost bin.
You are welcome to save the leftover bread for the sheep and goats, the leftover meat for the cats and all the other leftovers can be put close to the hen house.
Useful addresses
The nearest supermarket is Carrefour Market in the town of Penmarc'h open from 8AM till 8PM. L'Intermarché in Pendreff is open on Sunday mornings (first roundabout at your right when leaving the town)
The two (in our opinion) best restaurants in the area are Menn Lenn Du before Plomeur (traditional food) and the other is the Inn Cochon Rouge at Kérity street.

When leaving
When you leave, please place the used under sheets and (if borrowed) the sheets in the baskets. Don't forget anything in the refrigerator and please run a sponge through the house.
PS:
Be cautious, the wind rises fast here, so please ensure that the windows are fastened to the wall, either closed or open. Please close or put away the parasols when not in use, because they can ruin everything in their path if they blow away.
The small Buddha alters are there to protect and bring happiness/take care of you during your stay. You are welcome to make offerings to him.
For the safety of the children and animals, please drive slowly and on the roads made for cars on the property.
Please don't smoke in the houses, it may bother the non smokers after you.
